All about your band director

 

Stephanie McArthur is a twenty-one- year veteran of Mississippi public education, with previous appointments on the junior and senior high level with the Nettleton and Quitman School Districts, and currently is in her tenth year of service to the Pascagoula-Gautier School District, where she serves as beginning band coordinator for the Gautier Attendance Zone. Bands under her direction consistently earned superior ratings in concert, sight-reading and marching on both the state and regional level.

 

Mrs. McArthur is a graduate of Kosciusko High School and holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Mississippi State University. Her professional memberships include Mississippi Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu, American School Band Director’s Association, East Central Mississippi Band Director Association, where she is a Past President, Mississippi Women's Band Director Association (where she is a past president) and the Gulf Coast Band Directors Association. She was named Teacher of the Year for the 2018-19 school year at Singing River Academy, has been nominated for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 National Life Changer of the Year award and has been recognized in School Band and Orchestra’s December edition “50 Directors Who Make a Difference”.  In addition to her teaching responsibilities within the Gautier Band Program, she maintains a private lesson studio and is a sought-after clinician and soloist.

 

Stephanie has been married to husband Chris for 19 years and is the proud mother of two daughters, Kathryn Elise and Elizabeth Grace.
