Welcome! My name is Haley Husein and I am your child's 5th grade math teacher. I am originally from Jones County, MS, but my husband and I moved to the coast 2 summers ago; we currently reside in Gulfport. While this is only my second year teaching 5th grade math at SRA, this is my eighth year teaching all together. Previously, I taught 2nd grade at Mason Elementary in Laurel, MS, and 2nd and 3rd grade inclusion at Moselle Elementary.  When I'm not teaching my students math, I enjoy relaxing on the couch with my cats, or taking care of some of my indoor house plants (I have over 30!).

5th grade math moves quickly, and your students will learn a lot. I want to help ensure my students that we can all be "a math person!" However, I can't do it alone. I expect my students to work hard, and put forth effort on their end to be successful. I also encourage you to work with your students at home. On this page, I will provide a variety of resources that both you and your student can use at home for extra help and/or practice on a variety of standards.
