About Me

Hello Parents!

Here we are! I am beyond excited to have your child in my room for language class this year. 6th grade language can be such a challenge for students to master. I am confident that with a ton of hard work, an open line of parent communication, and a little bit of magic, your child will make outstanding growth. This will be my 10th year teaching Language Arts. I LOVE to teach writing and assure you that your child will become a confident writer by the end of this year. I want them to love school and feel happy, safe, and empowered under my instruction. I am a lover of the arts and an Ole Miss graduate. I grew up in Bay Saint Louis, MS and after Katrina, I graduated from Saltillo High School. I lived in Jackson, MS for 7 years and taught at Brandon Elementary. In Jackson, I coached college level cheer and dance and participated in many other activities. I am thrilled to be living back on the coast and love to stay busy! I am newly married to the love of my life, and we are renovating a 120 year old farm house in Grand Bay, AL along with another house.  In my free time, I love to dance, teach dance (hip hop, tap, contemporary, jazz, etc.), read, cheer on my students in all things, travel, eat all things unique, play with my golden-chow, Banjo and precious kittens, Roux and Ruby Jayne, participate in ALL things Disney, and shop at Dirt Cheap. Feel free to ask your child more about me. They can absolutely tell you.

Singing River Academy has high standards for all students.  I, along with my awesome teammates, expect CHOMP behavior expected at all times. Email is the best way to contact me. I check my email several times throughout the day and will respond as promptly as possible. My email address is [email protected]. I will also be sharing notifications using the computer program SchoolStatus. SchoolStatus allows me to call, text, and email parents directly based upon your telephone number registered with the school. Please make sure to update any changes in your phone number throughout the school year.

It’s going to be a magical year!

Warm Regards,

Mrs. Adams
