Big congratulations to Singing River Academy's Erica Wilson for being named one of the C Spire Foundation Mississippi Spelling Bee’s 2026 County Bee Coordinators of the Year!

Mrs. Wilson was recognized as Jackson County’s honoree in the South Bee region for the incredible work she does to keep the spelling bee a special tradition for students in our district and county. This year, in celebration of five years of hosting the Mississippi Spelling Bee, the C Spire Foundation selected three outstanding coordinators from across the state who consistently go above and beyond, and we are so proud to see Mrs. Wilson among them.

Her dedication, leadership and heart for students help make opportunities like this possible, and this recognition is so well deserved. Congratulations, Mrs. Wilson!

We’ll also be cheering on Trent Lott Academy 6th grader Yassieli Santana, who will represent our district as a finalist in the C Spire Foundation Mississippi Spelling Bee later this month!
